Award-winning writer Sandra Cisneros is the Tanner Humanities Center’s 2017 Artist in Residence. Cisneros writes about the Latino experience in America and supports socially engaged writing and community outreach. She is the author of several significant and beloved books, including The House on Mango Street, Loose Woman: Poems, Caramelo, and A House of My Own. She also has been honored with numerous awards, including the MacArthur Fellowship, two National Endowment for the Arts Fellowships, and a Texas Medal of the Arts.
Cisneros will participate in an on-stage conversation about her work with KUER’s Doug Fabrizio, a public reading, and a book signing hosted by The King’s English Bookshop.
Run time: 2 hours.
Recommended for ages 8 and up. No babes in arms. All patrons must have a ticket regardless of age.
