SALT LAKE CITY, UT – The talented Flamenco artists from Tablado Dance Company will grace the stage of Ring Around the Rose on April 8, 2017. As always, the show will be interactive and “wiggle-friendly” for audiences ages 2-102. Featuring both dancers and a live band, Tablado Dance Company will present an up close and personal view of this incredible art form.
Experience an authentic “juerga flamenca” at Ring Around the Rose. Their dancers and musicians will be joined by special guests Yolanda Guedea and Elisa Rague of the Dunmore Lasses band, and Sahara and Nadija Krompel: two extraordinary young guitarists who study under the tutelage of our own Jerry Parsons.
Be part of the juerga, a fun, informal gathering where the audience will be invited to join in the flamenco experience with palmas (claps), dancing, singing, and jaleos like “olé”, “vale” , “asi se baila” to encourage our musicians and dancers. The dynamics of flamenco appeals to participants of all ages!
And as always, Solange Gomes’ beautiful choreography will delight you with the passion of flamenco peppered with spicy modern variations.
In this interactive show children will gain cultural insights, Spanish language vocabulary in support of Flamenco learning and learn some flamenco dance techniques for footwork, arms, posture and movements in addition to songs, claps and rhythms with the luxury of a live band.
